dichotomy between 2 visions of cyberspace

datascape (william gibson’s neuromancer) / cybercity (neal steaphenson’s snowcrash)

the former is continous ( a cold abstraction as well) whereas the latter is divided into places metaphor of our real cities)

Neuromancer’s matrix (1984) -> continuous space
Snowcrah’s metaverse (1992) -> discrete space

I would say : “what’s next ?” : mixed/augmented space ?
